Woman charged with stalking, killing man shot to death in Durham

Durham police arrested a middle-age woman this week who is accused of killing a man nearly two months ago.

Police responded just after 1:30 a.m. March 28 to a report of a gunshot wound in the 3400 block of Old Chapel Hill Road.

They found 43-year-old Samuel Carr suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Antoniquette Rigsbee, 47, has been charged with murder, first-degree kidnapping, and stalking Carr by phone calls, emails and following him from one location to another, “placing [him] in fear of death, bodily injury and continued harassment,” according to court records.

She was indicted on those charges May 6, the records show, and turned herself in at the Durham County Jail on Monday where police said she is being held without bail.
