According to court documents, an employee at the complex made a call for service to report a woman who was parked near Building L, and drinking while her child was in the vehicle.

Approximately an hour after making the first call, the employee called again stating that the woman was now “driving recklessly around the apartment complex with the child in the car,” officials said.

Authorities reported the woman — identified as 28-year-old Angelina Perez — was inside an office with apartment employees when officers arrived on scene.

An arrest report states officers observed Perez was very unsteady on her feet and had a strong odor of alcohol.

While speaking with officers, Perez allegedly admitted that she started drinking around 10 a.m. and had about six liquor drinks.

She also told officers that she drove her vehicle after drinking, but was only trying to move it in front of her building, officials said.
