Woman arrested in connection with bartender assault

Oct. 24—A 32-year-old Odessa woman was arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant Monday, three months after a bartender accused her of attacking her.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, a local bartender reported she was working behind the bar July 27 when Brittney Deshay Stewart began hitting her in the head with an unknown object.

Officers noticed the bartender had a small open wound on her forehead and swelling above her left eyebrow, the report stated.

Officers obtained surveillance and cell phone footage that showed Stewart striking the bartender with brass knuckles, the report stated. The officers positively identified Stewart as the woman's assailant using the footage and a past jail booking photo, according to the report.

Stewart was released from the Ector County jail Tuesday after posting a $30,000 surety bond.
