Woman arrested for Briley Parkway carjacking of former coworker

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman faces a felony charge after allegedly carjacking a former coworker.

In the early morning hours March 1, Madison Precinct officers responded to a call at Exit 17 on Briley Parkway West at Brick Church Pike for a carjacking.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the victim told officers she ran into a former coworker, Keyosha Simpson, at a Kentucky casino. Simpson asked for a ride closer to Nashville, which the victim granted. However, the victim said Simpson kept asking her to drive a little further each time they stopped. Eventually, the victim said Simpson, who was riding in the backseat of the victim’s car, grabbed the victim from behind, telling her she wouldn’t leave the vehicle.

After a brief struggle, the victim left the car to call police, and Simpson got into the driver’s seat. Simpson then fled on Brick Church Pike in the victim’s blue 2018 Kia Forte, leaving the victim on the exit ramp.

Simpson was positively identified by her phone number and from the victim in a police lineup, officers said. Simpson was booked into the Metro Jail for robbery and carjacking on a $60,000 bond.
