Woman who allegedly attacked cello player in subway station stole items from Nordstrom: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The woman accused of attacking a cello player with a bottle in the Herald Square subway station allegedly stole some clothing from a Manhattan department store on Tuesday, police said.

Amira Hunter, 23, allegedly stuffed her handbag with the items she swiped at Nordstrom on 225 West 57th St. at around 3:40 p.m., according to the NYPD. Hunter allegedly stole a $235 Moncler hat, accoridng to sources.

Hunter was arrested 10 minutes later and was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, cops said. Her arraignment was pending Wednesday.

Hunter was arrested last week for allegedly hitting cellist Iain Forrest, 29, in the head with a water bottle in the mezzanine at the 34th St-Herald Square subway station on Feb. 13, according to the NYPD. The medical student suffered a gash to the head in the unprovoked attack, he said.

Hunter was charged with assault and released without bail during her arraignment, according to court records.
