Woman accused of letting puppies starve to death

A woman was arrested after being accused of leaving puppies at her Lake County home to die.

Detectives found the dogs at the Lady Lake home on Camphor Road.

Deputies said the woman went out of town and left the dogs there.

Officials said the puppies starved to death.

A neighbor saw dogs running free. Eventually, that took deputies to the home with two dead puppies, and the dog's owner, Krysia McPherson, 23, who said she left them alone to travel to West Virginia.

McPherson was charged with not giving them enough food or water while she left down for several days.

McPherson faces one charge for aggravated animal cruelty.

She was released from jail on bond.
