Woman accused of $1,200 champagne theft in Mandeville

MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) — The Mandeville Police Department is looking for a woman who is accused of stealing more than $1,200 in champagne from a grocery store. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the crime happened at the Whole Foods on Highway 190. Mandeville police released a surveillance photo of the suspect in the case.

In the photo, the woman is seen riding in an electric grocery cart, which the store makes available for shoppers. But it’s unclear from the photo if the woman is using one of the electric carts that belongs to the business or one of her own.

Police say the woman loaded the bottles into the cart and left without paying for them.
