Woman accidentally run over by vehicle in Arcade

ARCADE, N.Y. (WIVB) — According to The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, a 58-year-old woman was accidentally run over in the Town of Arcade Monday morning.

Authorities said that while a disabled vehicle was being towed with a tow rope on East Arcade Road, the disabled vehicle accidentally ran over the woman on private property.

“Initial findings indicate the female was assisting in moving the disabled vehicle, while a family
member was attempting to pull the disabled vehicle with another vehicle,” the Sheriff’s office said.

The woman suffered injuries to her leg and torso. The Sheriff’s office described her lower leg injury as “severe.”

“An Arcade police officer, who had responded to the scene to assist, applied a tourniquet to the injured leg to control bleeding,” the Sheriff’s office said.

The woman was taken to ECMC by ambulance for treatment. As of Monday afternoon, no charges are expected.
