Woman, 87, killed after being run over by her own car in Brooklyn: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An 87-year-old woman was killed Wednesday after she was run over by her own car in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.

It happened on West 10th Street in Gravesend. The woman opened the car door before it was fully parked and suffered a medical episode, according to authorities.

The woman slumped forward and was ran over by the front driver-side wheel, police said.

Another crash in Brooklyn on Wednesday sent four people to the hospital. A driver suffered a medical emergency shortly after 7 p.m. at the corner of 76th Street and 18th Avenue in Bensonhurst, causing him to hit another driver, a pedestrian and a person riding an electric scooter, according to authorities.

All four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
