Woman, 75, robbed of $1,300 in cash in East Village: NYPD

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (PIX11) – Police are searching for a woman after a 75-year-old woman was robbed in the East Village on May 4, according to the NYPD.

The victim was walking near 7th Avenue and Avenue D around 4:09 p.m. when the suspect approached her from behind and snatched her purse, police said.

The victim fell over, injuring her hip in the process, according to authorities. The suspect stole $1,300 in cash from the purse and fled northbound on Avenue D.

Police describe the suspect as a woman around 5’0″ who was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black pants, black shoes and a black facemask.
