Wisconsin Timber Rattlers announce winner of the 2024 Food Fight
GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers revealed on Tuesday the winner of the 2024 Food Fight.
According to a release from the team, the winner of this year’s Food Fight is the Gyro Waffle Fries submitted by Hayey Tenpas of Hortonville.
The winning recipe consists of waffle fries topped with diced tomato, kalamata olives, feta cheese, gyro meat, and tzatziki sauce. The Gyro Waffle Fries was one of 83 submissions this year and narrowly beat out four other finalists when the contest voting ended on Sunday.
Tenpas, for submitting the winning recipe, will now receive four vouchers for any regular season home game, four vouchers for the winning food item, and an opportunity to throw out the first pitch before a game this season.

With the win, Gyro Waffle Fries now joins the Show Sandwich, the Almighty Pork Sandwich, the Dinger Dog, the Grilled Cheese Chicken Sandwich, Rattler Bites, Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, the Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and the Sweet-Salty-Savory Burger as a Food Fight victor.
Team officials say the Gyro Waffle Fries will be available for purchase at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium during the 2024 season in the third base main concessions stand.
The first chance for the public to try the winner of this year’s Food Fight will be at the Timber Rattlers’ first home game of the season on Friday, April 5, against the Peoria Chiefs.
