Wisconsin man arrested after fleeing traffic stop and wrecking into another vehicle

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 28-year-old Wisconsin man was taken into custody on Thursday morning after fleeing from a traffic stop.

According to the Janesville Police Department, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Deshawn A. Foreman in reference to an ongoing drug investigation.

Foreman allegedly refused to stop for officers and fled from the traffic stop. Officers did not follow Foreman and disregarded the vehicle pursuit.

Shortly after, officers located Foreman, who had hit an occupied vehicle at the intersection of East Court Street and South Garfield Avenue. Foreman reportedly fled the accident on foot but was taken into custody by officers who came upon the accident.

The driver of the vehicle Foreman had allegedly hit refused medical treatment at the scene while Foreman requested medical treatment. After he was cleared from the hospital, he was transported to the Rock County Jail.

Following the accident, the Janesville Police Department obtained search warrants for two residences in reference to the ongoing drug investigation regarding Foreman.

Court records show Foreman has not been formally charged in this incident, but he currently remains in the Rock County Jail on the following offenses:

  • Flee/Elude Officer

  • Resist/Obstruct Officer

  • Recklessly Endangering Safety

  • Hit and Run – Attended Vehicle

  • Felony Bail Jumping
