Wisconsin’s lottery winnings

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A new study has revealed the amount Wisconsin has won in the lottery since 1992, and how many times. The research, conducted by iGaming experts at GambleSpot, looked at Powerball draws from 1992 and 2024, to see which states have experienced the most wins and which have won the most money. They also looked at which were the most and least frequently drawn Powerball numbers between October 2015 and April 2024. Wisconsin was found to have had a total of 797 lottery wins over the past 32 years, and $4,359.64 million in winnings when taking into account inflation.

Wisconsin winners have won the Match 5 game 755 times, Match 5 + Power Play 23 times and the Powerball jackpot 19 times. Though the Powerball jackpot has the fewest number of wins, it has generated the most winnings in this state, at $2,913.02 million when accounting for inflation.

Andriy Nezdropa, CEO of Adwise Partners LLC said, “Analyzing lottery data over a significant period can provide valuable insights into societal and economic dynamics, as well as our fascination with luck and chance.

“People often find lottery statistics fascinating because they reflect public interest in gambling and the allure of hitting it big. Tracking which states have had the most winners can serve as a barometer of this interest over time.

“It can also help to identify statistical anomalies. While lottery draws are supposed to be random, long-term data can reveal if there are any unexpected trends or biases in the distribution of wins.”
