LOS ANGELES, CA (WFRV) – Wisconsin was well-represented at the Oscars ceremony and that included Kenosha native Mark Ruffalo who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and Appleton Native Willem Dafoe who was a standout in the nominated film “Poor Things.”

Ruffalo wore an Artists4Ceasefire red pin calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and was heard declaring, ‘Humanity wins!’ according to reporters positioned along the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, March 10.

Ruffalo was nominated for his role in “Poor Things.” He was nominated along with Sterling K. Brown for “American Fiction,” Robert De Niro for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Robert Downey Jr. for “Oppenheimer,” and Ryan Gosling for “Barbie.” Downey Jr. took home the statue.

Dafoe was joined at the ceremony by his wife, Giada Colagrande. He stood out in the film “Poor Things” but fell short of a nomination this year. He has been nominated four other times.

Aaron Rodgers’ ex-girlfriend, Olivia Munn, arrived on the red carpet with comedian John Mulaney.

Munn was a frequent visitor to Northeast Wisconsin while dating the former Packers Quarterback. She famously joked on late-night television that instead of taking calls from her agent when she’s in Green Bay, she picks up an order at Maplewood Meats.
