Winter storm leaves thousands without power in Quebec and Ontario

MONTREAL - A winter storm has left thousands without power in Ontario and Quebec on the last weekend before Christmas.

Hydro-Quebec says there are still more than 100,000 without power after heavy snow walloped parts of the province on Friday.

The Laurentians, Outaouais and the Lanaudiere region were particularly hard hit.

Some residents haven't had electricity since Friday afternoon.

Quebec's public utility is asking residents to be patient as crews work to repair power lines.

Thousands of Hydro One customers in eastern Ontario have also been affected by the storm.
