HOLLAND — The Holland Farmers Market has selected the winner of its inaugural Poster Design Contest.

Taylor TeBos was named the winner Friday, April 28. Her "colorful and whimsical" design will be featured on posters promoting the market throughout downtown Holland, in addition to being placed on merchandise that will be available for sale at the market. TeBos will take home a $500 cash prize.

The contest was announced in March, coming roughly 18 months after an inaugural t-shirt design contest in 2021. That contest will not continue, officials told The Sentinel.

The poster contest was sponsored by Fris Supply Shop.

“It's a great way to get the art community involved and a fun way to be able to promote the Holland Farmers Market," said owner Andrew Fris.

TeBos was raised in West Michigan and received her bachelor's degree in graphic design and marketing from Cornerstone University. She's a freelance graphic designer and photographer.

“The entire Holland Farmers Market team would like to congratulate Taylor on her award-winning poster design,” said marketing coordinator Kara de Alvare. “We are so grateful for the nearly 100 design submissions we received as part of our contest, and we were truly blown away by the level of artistic talent among our market fans. Selecting the winning design was more difficult than any of us imagined it would be!”

Beginning this week, the public will have an opportunity to select the runner-up through a People Choice's contest at facebook.com/hollandfarmersmarket. The design with the most votes by Friday, May 5, will receive $100 in Market Bucks and a gift card to Fris Supply Shop.

The Holland Farmers Market begins its regular season Wednesday, May 17. The market is open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday and Saturdays, rain or shine, and brings together over 75 local farmers, specialty food vendors and food trucks.
