Winn-Dixie shoppers can donate money for scholarships for families of fallen military members
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Winn-Dixie has launched its seventh annual community donation program with its long-standing partner Folds of Honor.
Folds of Honor is a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen and disabled military members.
Now through Tuesday, June 18, Winn-Dixie customers can show their appreciation while shopping at their local store by donating $1, $5 or rounding up their grocery total during checkout. Every cent donated will go directly to Folds of Honor to support its mission to honor America’s heroes and support their loved ones on their education journeys.
“Military families serve too, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who have given so much for our freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Jennifer Robertson, regional vice president for Winn-Dixie.
Robertson said every donation will be matched during Memorial Day weekend.
