Windy, showers Tuesday; Warming up as winds get lighter — Your 9-Day Forecast

Weather Watcher Bill Coon sent this dusty sunrise. Usually, the winds settle down, so mornings are not dusty. That was not the case Sunday morning. It started out windy and ended with horrible blowing dust and a peak gust of 63 mph. I’ve got good news for the winds over the next few days…

TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with gusty winds.  Though the winds will not be as strong as those on Sunday, the west winds will pick up and gust to near 50 mph on the east slopes of the mountains.  We could see a slight dusty haze.  Overnight, the winds will die down, and the low will drop to 46.

FORECAST:  Tuesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with chilly wind gusts.  The SW winds will range from 10-35 mph with the strongest gusts on the east slopes of the mountains (no dust).  Expect a chance of scattered P.M. showers as well, especially late evening.  Tuesday’s high: 60. Wednesday will be partly cloudy in the morning, mostly sunny in the afternoon.  The winds will be much lighter, out of the west at 5-20 mph.  Wednesday’s high: 68.  Thursday will be mostly sunny with just a few clouds and light winds.  Thursday’s high: 79. Friday will be partly cloudy and windy in the afternoon (no dust) with a high of 84.  Saturday will be partly cloudy with lighter winds and a high of 80.  Easter Sunday will be partly cloudy with moderate winds (no dust) and a high of 81.
