It’s been windy in Sacramento: here’s how strong the gusts were
(FOX40.COM) — From the northern tip of the Sacramento Valley to the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, strong winds have whipped through the region since Wednesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service forecasted that the valley would experience wind speeds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 35 to 45 mph through Friday evening.

On Thursday afternoon, the NWS released the highest recorded wind gusts following the first part of the advisory from Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.
Sacramento was at the low end of the forecasted gust speeds, with the highest recorded speed being 36 mph at the Sacramento Executive Airport.
Folsom and other reservoir storage levels remain above yearly averages
Other areas of the county experienced top gust speeds of between 30 to 35 mph.
Gust speeds around the region were also in the 30s with some areas peaking into the 70 and 80 mph range.

• Hell Hole Reservoir: 70 mph
• Redding: 40 mph
• Amador County: 83 mph
