Wind gusts up to 55 mph are forecast for Saturday, with a wind advisory in effect through 8 p.m. after starting at 10 a.m. in some areas and around noon in others.

The Ohio Turnpike has issued a weather event travel restriction for large vehicles in both directions from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The ban applies to high-profile, tow-behind trailers, campers, boats and enclosed trailers, where high profile is considered anything over 7 feet 6 inches tall.

The ban is also effective for commercial trucks towing an empty, single 53-foot trailer, all mobile homes, office trailers and livestock trailers, all double-trailer haulers exceeding 90 feet and all triple-trailer combinations.

Most other vehicles, including self-propelled motor homes and pickup trucks with slide-on camper units, are not affected by the ban. The turnpike said the restriction may be expanded or reduced as conditions warrant.

High winds are expected to move into much of the state around 10 a.m., with winds arriving later in the eastern part of the state around noon in areas including Geauga, Ashtabula (inland), Summit, Trumbull, Stark and Mahoning counties, as well as Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

In the Greater Akron area, chances of rain will increase to 100% overnight, before dropping to around 20% later in the day Saturday and clearing overnight.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Saturday morning, mainly before 11 a.m., with a high near 65. The day is expected to be breezy, with a southeast wind 16 to 25 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 47 mph.
