Wilson Park in Fayetteville closes tennis, pickleball courts for renovations

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The city of Fayetteville begins work on April 29 on six new pickleball courts at Wilson Park, as well as renovations to the park’s tennis courts.

According to a press release, the new pickleball courts will be lighted and will replace the junior courts and adjoining tennis courts. The city expects the work to be done by the fall.

The park’s four other tennis courts will be renovated, including new surfacing and practice walls. The city expects the tennis court renovations to take six weeks.

Fayetteville schools plan to have regulations in place for social media use

The city says the courts will be closed to the public during the renovations. Lights will also be added to the park’s basketball court.

According to the release, future pickleball court additions at Fayetteville parks include adding four courts to Underwood Park and adding six courts to Walker Park.
