Williamsville man admits to shooting woman, firing gun inside clinic

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Williamsville man pleaded guilty Monday afternoon after shooting a weapon inside two different locations, hitting and injuring an unknown victim, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

Officials say 49-year-old Jeremy A. Griffin shot an unknown female inside her apartment building on the 100 block of Pennsylvania Street in 2022. She then ran into her apartment and he shot at the door multiple times to gain entry, but left when he failed to get in. The victim was taken to ECMC to treat a leg injury.

Griffin proceeded to a clinic on the 200 block of Virginia Street where he allegedly fired a shot into a wall in the lobby. Two security guards were able to subdue him and take his weapon before Buffalo police officers arrived.

Griffin was charged with one count each of first-degree attempted assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree reckless endangerment.

He faces a maximum of fifteen years in prison when he is sentenced on May 30.
