Will Melania Trump Wear Ralph Lauren to the Inauguration?
With the inauguration of President-Elect Trump just days away, many people have one big question on their minds — what is Melania going to wear? Well, worry no more! It is being reported that designer Ralph Lauren will be dressing the soon-to-be first lady.
Lauren has been an outspoken Hillary Clinton supporter and dressed her in some of those famous debate pantsuits, as well as her beige voting day outfit and her post-election-night concession-speech pantsuit. Melania has also worn Ralph Lauren outfits on two occasions, a pink jumpsuit to the third presidential debate and a white one-shoulder piece on election night.
Some designers have declared that they will not dress Melania for the inauguration or future events, including Tom Ford, Sophie Theallet, and Marc Jacobs. But there are others who would happily dress her.
Tommy Hilfiger said, “Yes, I would dress Melania. I think she is a beautiful woman who would make any designer’s clothes look great.” As did Diane von Furstenberg, who previously designed T-shirts for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. She said, “Donald Trump was elected and he will be our president. Melania deserves the respect of any first lady before her. Our role as part of the fashion industry is to promote beauty, inclusiveness, [and] diversity.”
