Stay classy, Bismarck! Will Ferrell anchors local North Dakota newscast as Ron Burgundy
You stay classy, Bismarck.
Actor Will Ferrell surprised viewers in North Dakota on Saturday, co-anchoring KXMB-TV's newscast as Ron Burgundy, his mustached character from 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," to promote "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," in theaters later this month.
Ferrell joined KXMB anchor Amber Schatz following the Auburn-Alabama football game for the entire, 30-minute broadcast, including local hockey highlights.
"I've never seen fighting in a hockey match before," he joked. "That was fascinating."
And when it came time for his famous "stay classy" catch-phrase, Ferrell's Burgundy botched the send-off.
"What?" he asked. "Am I supposed to read that?"
Ferrell's appearance as Burgundy on KXMB came a day before he was scheduled to co-anchor TSN's curling coverage in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He's also slated to co-host ESPN's "SportsCenter" as Burgundy later this week.
