Wildfire near Ranch Rudolf

May 14—TRAVERSE CITY — A wildfire burned near Ranch Rudolf on Tuesday afternoon, according to Grand Traverse 911.

The fire was contained and "mostly extinguished" by 7:46 p.m., dispatchers said in a release.

The cause of the fire — located south of Muncie Lake Road in Union Township — has not yet been reported. Approximately 36 acres burned, according to the Fife Lake Springfield Fire Department.

The Fife Lake Springfield Fire Department was on the scene alongside firefighters from other agencies, including the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Traverse City Wildfire Unit and Kalkaska DNR.
