Wichita TSA team wins prestigious honor

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Before you fly out of Wichita’s airport, you will meet an award-winning team as you go through the security checkpoint line.

The Transportation Security Administration has given the TSA team at Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport its 2023 Airport of the Year Award for small to midsize airports.

“Being the recipient of a TSA Honorary Award is considered one of the highest honors in the agency,” the officials posted on Facebook. “It signifies exceptional achievements, groundbreaking contributions, and dedicated service to the TSA mission.”

There were more than 900 submissions for the award. The winner in the large airport category is George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Saturday closure to affect travel on I-135 and K-96

“We are incredibly proud of our team at ICT and echo the regular praise they receive from our traveling customers. Congratulations, team ICT!” the Wichita Airport Authority said.
