Wichita police make second arrest in homicide investigation

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department arrested a 29-year-old man on Monday as part of their ongoing investigation into the homicide of 35-year-old Isaiah Gails.

The man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the first degree; intentional and premeditated.

The WPD arrested a 32-year-old man on Friday in relation to the case. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and criminal possession of a firearm.

The WPD does not identify suspects until charges are filed in their case. The case is being presented to the District Attorney’s Office.

Wichita police say Gails was fatally shot around 2 a.m. on Monday, May 6, at a gas station at the corner of Douglas and Volutsia. Officers heard the shots, and when they arrived at the scene, Gails’ car had crashed into a building across the street.
