Why SUI (Shopping Under Influence) Is Never A Good Idea

Picture the scene. It’s Friday night. You’re two, maybe three glasses of prosecco down. In a break in your Game of Thrones marathon you decide to head online for a spot of shopping. What could go wrong? Well plenty if results from a recent survey are anything to go by.

Apparently, nearly half of all Brits have shopped online after drinking and most of them admit that in doing so, they spent more than they would have if sober. What’s more 40% of us have regretted a drunken Internet purchase.

And now there’s a whole website dedicated to charting the random things people find themselves buying online when they’re five pinots to the wind. Drunkmall is an online shopping destination filled with bonkers under the influence purchases. You know, like that time you came home from your work drinks and ordered an oversized paddling pool. Which will totally fit in your miniscule garden. Thanks, drunk self.

But the truth is those SUI (Spending Under Influence) purchases can be really funny.

A quick scroll on Twitter of the hashtag #drunkpurchase reveals a whole plethora of useless amazing orders.
