Why Poland can't provide Ukraine with Patriot systems yet

Poland is currently unable to transfer Patriot missile systems to Ukraine as it is still in the process of receiving the systems it ordered, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on May 14.
"It's difficult to discuss providing Ukraine with Patriots when we haven't even fully integrated these systems into Poland's own air defense needs," President Duda stated.
The initial elements of the systems, ordered seven years ago, are only now being received by Poland, added Duda.
Additional Patriot systems for Ukraine
Western partners do not want to give Ukraine even “five or seven” Patriots, although they have more than 100, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on April 3.
Ukraine needs 25 Patriot systems or their equivalents to fully protect its airspace from Russian attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on April 6.
The U.S. House of Representatives finally voted in favor of a bill that provides more than $60 billion in support for Ukraine on April 20.
President Joe Biden signed the bill on April 24.
The U.S. is negotiating with countries that have Patriot systems about transferring them to Ukraine, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said on April 30.
Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles stated on May 6 that missiles for Patriot air defense systems provided by Madrid and its allies were delivered to Ukraine.
