Why are more people investing in Rogers?

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A family-owned investment company based in Rogers is proposing a brand new hotel and entertainment project in the Pinnacle Hills area which would add another major investment into the growing Northwest Arkansas city.

The new hotel contracted by Beaty Capital Group Inc. is in the early stages of development. The hotel will be 16 stories tall and will offer a total of 207 rooms. According to Rogers Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Rogers is a rapidly growing city.

“We are seeing lots of investments, recent announcements of more businesses,” said Steve Cox, senior vice president of economic development for the city of Rogers.

Downtown Rogers business owner Dana Smith says she saw the potential of Rogers growth.

“We wanted to be part of the downtown, and we could see it was growing,” said Smith.

Honeycomb Kitchen Shop opened it’s doors eight years ago. Smith says Rogers is a city people are attracted to.

“So, we get a lot of people from Oklahoma, Missouri, and even other parts of Arkansas that come specifically to downtown Rogers to shop, to eat, to enjoy coffee,” said Smith.

Smith also says they collaborate with other businesses around Northwest Arkansas, allowing them to sell items at Honeycomb Kitchen Shop.

“We know how hard it is to be a small business, so we want to be a source for other businesses,” said Smith.

Cox says the Rogers Lowell Chamber of Commerce works to ensure Rogers sustains it’s rapid growth rate.

“Well working with the developmental community obviously making sure that we have the right types of developments such as AMP, Top Golf, the new USL soccer stadium that’s coming,” said Cox.

Developmental projects like Beaty Capital Group’s hotel seem to be pushing the growth of Northwest Arkansas. According to Cox, Northwest Arkansas is currently at the population Charlotte, North Carolina was in 1994.
