LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– Governor Gretchen Whitmer will sign a bipartisan legislation today at 11 a.m. that will require insurance companies to cover treatments for mental health and substance use disorder the same as physical health services.

Officials say the goal of this new law will close loopholes, ensuring that Michigan residents have the necessary access to the treatments they need.
