Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) Fight Like Hell PAC rolled out its first round of Senate endorsements Friday, backing incumbents facing tough reelection bids in November.

Whitmer formally backed Democratic Sens. Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Jon Tester (Mont.), Bob Casey (Pa.), and Jacky Rosen (Nev.).

The Hill was the first outlet to report on the endorsements.

“We need leaders in the U.S. Senate who are focused on lowering costs for working families, bringing good jobs to our communities, and stopping attacks on our reproductive rights,” Whitmer said in a statement. “The leaders I’m endorsing today have done exactly that. They’re champions for their constituents, working nonstop to tackle kitchen table issues and defend our everyday freedoms. I’m going to do everything I can to help send them back to the United States Senate.

Whitmer’s latest round of endorsements comes after she backed a number of House Democrats late last year. The governor’s PAC, which supports federal candidates, launched last June.

Democrats face a potentially uphill climb in the battle to retain control of the Senate.

According to the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, Tester, Rosen, and Brown face “toss-up” races, while Casey and Baldwin’s contests are labeled “lean Democratic.”

Senate Democrats currently hold a 51-49 seat majority over Republicans.
