Whitley County Grand Jury indicts two in cases involving children

Apr. 23—WHITLEY COUNTY — The Whitley County Grand Jury returned their indictments for the month April last week.

Within the indictment report, the Whitley County Grand Jury indicted two individuals in separate cases for alleged crimes against children.

Michael Shane Britton, 49, of Corbin, was indicted on 12 counts of Possession or Viewing Matter portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor; and four counts of Distribution of Matter portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor.

According to the indictment report, Britton allegedly was found to be in possession of the aforementioned illicit material in January of this year.

A warrant was issued for Britton's arrest on Thursday, April 18. As of press time, Britton has not yet been lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center but has been given a bond of $50,000.

In another case, the grand jury also indicted Dylan Hill, 22, of Corbin, on one count of First-Degree Criminal Abuse for allegedly abusing an infant child.

Hill was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center on February 25, and he remains lodged there in lieu of a $50,000 bond as of press time.

An indictment is an accusation only and does not imply guilt or innocence. Persons are considered innocent until proven guilty under state and federal law.
