White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will brief reporters Wednesday afternoon following a significant protest vote against President Biden in Tuesday’s Wisconsin primary.

Some 48,000 voters in the state chose “uninstructed” over the incumbent in the Democratic Party contest. That tally continues a series of symbolic and highly visible actions expressing opposition to the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war on Hamas.

Last night, Thaer Ahmad, a Palestinian American emergency doctor, stood up and walked out of a White House gathering discussing the desperate situation in the territory. The physician, who provided aid in Gaza in January, said his departure was meant to mirror what he sees as an unwillingness to listen to people affected by the humanitarian crisis.

Jean-Pierre is scheduled to speak at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
