Where Vanderbilt baseball stands in latest NCAA tournament bracket projections

Vanderbilt baseball is still projected to make the NCAA tournament after taking one of three games against Tennessee.

The Commodores (34-18, 12-15 SEC) likely will need to win at least one game against No. 3 Kentucky in Lexington this weekend to stay alive. This is the final series of the regular season, with the SEC tournament commencing shortly afterward.

What Baseball America is saying about Vanderbilt

Baseball America projects Vanderbilt as a No. 3 seed in the Charlottesville Regional, hosted by No. 14 overall seed Virginia and including West Virginia and Columbia.

Vanderbilt's regional is projected to be paired up with the Knoxville regional, hosted by Tennessee.

What D1Baseball is saying about Vanderbilt

D1Baseball projects the Commodores as the No. 3 seed in the Winston-Salem Regional, hosted by No. 8 seed Wake Forest and also containing Oregon and Army.

Its projections have the Commodores' regional paired with the Tallahassee Regional, hosted by Florida State.

Since 2012, all five SEC teams that had 13 conference wins and an RPI in the 20s have made the NCAA tournament. Vanderbilt has an RPI of 28 entering the series against Kentucky.
