Where is Timmothy Pitzen? New age progression photo released ahead of 13th anniversary of disappearance

CHICAGO — Saturday will mark 13 years since Timmothy Pitzen was last seen.

Hoping to spawn new leads in the Aurora boy’s strange disappearance, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children released an updated age-progression rendering of how Pitzen might now look at age 19.

The updated photo was accompanied by a message from Timmothy’s father who holds out hope that his son will be found:

Dear Timmothy,

The years apart have been hard, I am so looking forward for us to be reunited. There is so much of your young life I have not been able to be a part of while you have been missing. The future is bright, and I look forward to spending time with you, and getting to know my son again. Till I see you again.

Love, Dad

Pitzen was 6 years old when his mother, Amy Pitzen-Fry picked him up from his Aurora middle school. The pair went to the zoo, a water park and then a resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Two days later, Pitzen-Fry was found dead in a Rockford hotel. She’d taken her own life and left a note saying that Timmothy was safe, with someone who loved him, and that he would never be found.
