Where to get Pi Day deals around the country

SAN DIEGO (KSWB/KUSI) – What better day to indulge in a slice of pizza or pie than Pi Day on Thursday, March 14?

Pi Day honors the mathematical constant π or pi — the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter (approximately 3.14) — on a date appropriately abbreviated 3/14.

As reported by the Associated PressCongress designated every March 14 to be National Pi Day in 2009, hoping to spur more interest in math and science. Fittingly enough, Pi Day is also Albert Einstein’s birthday.

To celebrate, pizzerias, pie shops and other businesses typically join in on the festivities by offering discounts and sometimes even free slices.

Here’s a look at some Pi Day deals around the country:

California Pizza Kitchen: The restaurant chain is offering pizzas for only $3.14 with any purchase of $25 or more for dine-in. Pi lovers can choose from CPK’s original barbecue chicken pizza, pepperoni or cheese pizzas. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program to get the coupon.

Blaze Pizza: Enjoy any 11-inch pizza (with toppings or without) for only — you guessed it — $3.14. To receive the Pi Day deal, customers will need to join the Blaze Rewards program for a coupon.

Marco’s Pizza: This pizza chain is also celebrating Pi Day with $3.14 medium one-topping pizzas. The deal is good for customers who purchase any large or extra-large pizza at regular cost. For those who plan to order online, the discount code is PIDAY2024.
