Where Else Should We Put the Little Girl of Wall Street?

Everyone's favorite feminist hero du jour, a defiant bronze statue-child, has been staring down the charging bull on Wall Street since Tuesday. State Street Global Advisors, an almost $2.5 trillion investor, installed her there to call for companies to add more women to their boards. Very sweet!

But while Wall Street certainly needs her to police its worst inclinations, we came up with a few more audiences who could benefit from the helpful reminder she provides: Little girls and grown women alike are watching you.

Remember that time Paul Ryan tried to relate to #millennials and took a selfie of his so-white-you-have-to-wonder-whether-this-is-Capitol-Hill-or-a-mime-convention intern staff?

Remember when Ivanka Trump snapped a photo of her and her husband, Jared Kushner, in full black-tie ensembles-on the very same weekend that President Trump issued an immigration order that stranded not only refugees but also lawful permanent residents?

Remember that time Sean Spicer attempted to explain the difference between Trump's American Health Care Act and Obamacare using two differently sized piles of paper? Yeah, we're not sure we buy that super-precise prop either ...

Remember how Melania Trump has more or less ensconced herself in a gold-plated tower, costing taxpayers around $180 million per year?

Remember that time a whole bunch of white men decided to sign away women's reproductive rights worldwide?

Uh-huh. You bet we do.
