Here’s where to find 8 great pies in the Las Vegas valley
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Happy Pi Day! Have you picked up a slice to celebrate?
Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant pi (3.14159265…etc), celebrated on March 14, since 3, 1, and 4 are the first digits of pi.
To celebrate, 8 News Now asked Las Vegas locals where they could find the best pie. In no particular order, here are what they said are the eight best places to grab a slice of pie in the Las Vegas valley.
Jerry’s Nugget
Inside Jerry’s Nugget Casino is Jerry’s Nugget Bakery, which offers a wide variety of cakes, pastries, and pie, including gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free options. The bakery offers six different types of pie: apple, blueberry, banana cream, chocolate cream, coconut cream, and pumpkin.
“They have great desserts,” one 8 News Now viewer wrote on social media. “Really! They have the best!” another added.
Pies Unlimited
Pies Unlimited has been “serving up delicious treats” in Las Vegas for over 17 years. According to its website, all of its desserts are made from scratch daily. One fan of the bakery called it “the very definition of a hidden gem.” Pies Unlimited offers more than 30 flavors of pie.
Southwest Diner
For almost three decades, Southwest Diner has served Boulder City, Nevada, proudly proclaiming that “homemade” is their specialty, a fact many viewers said they were a fan of. Even though you may have to travel a bit to get to their pies, one fan of the restaurant assures you it is “worth the drive.”
GranDelights
Jeremy Washington is a local artisan baker who owns GranDelights, a brand that bakes homemade southern confections year-round. Viewers love GranDelights’ pies, claiming they are “dessert heaven” and “the only way to go” when it comes to pie. GranDelights pies can be ordered online and picked up at several locations throughout the valley.
Joe’s Steak & Stone Crab
A viewer proclaimed Joe’s Stake & Stone Crab at Caesars Palace their favorite pie stop. The Las Vegas Strip restaurant offers up to 9 different types of pie. Reservations for the restaurant are required and can be made online.
Marie Callendar’s
Another local fan favorite is Marie Callendar’s. While it is a national chain, one viewer claims the restaurant is “never a bad choice” when it comes to pie. With Marie’s signature crust and fillings, the restaurant has become well-known for its pies. In fact, Marie Callendar’s has a whole menu dedicated to pies on its website.
Kneaders
Several viewers pointed to Kneaders Bakery & Cafe, which promises “delight in every bite,” according to its website. Kneaders offers a variety of baked treats and desserts, including chocolate cream pie, coconut cream pie, lemon truffle pie, and raspberry cream cheese pie.
Du-Par’s
“Du-Par’s at Suncoast has great pie,” a viewer wrote. According to the bakery’s website, they have a “rotating selection of freshly made pies baked daily.” You can even take home a whole pie! Du-Par’s has more than 15 pies in its rotation, including fruit pies, specialty pies, and cream pies.
Some honorable mentions that didn’t quite make the top eight include Lou’s Diner, Delmonico Steakhouse, Black Bear Diner, and Crust & Roux.
