What's new in Mt. Juliet? From Costco and Cinnaholic to Leon's, Blo Dry Bar and more.

Commercial site plans continue to flow into Mt. Juliet's planning departments as more rooftops leads to new business interest in the city.

Here is the latest on some of the eagerly awaited openings and possible coming to Mt. Juliet:

Eastside Bowl: A mixed-use development named Golden Bear Place at Beckwith Road and Golden Bear Gateway near Interstate 40 includes the bowling alley with 660 homes and other commercial space that can include a restaurant, hotel, restaurant and storage units. The contract is with Eastside Bowl, based on discussion at city meetings. The approval includes an amendment that if the bowling alley “falls through,” developers have to bring the Planned Unit Development back to commissioners for review.

Leon's Famous Deli, Foot Gear The restaurant opening under Briley Hunter and Nick Guidry is targeting a late March or early April opening at Charlie's Place on North Mt. Juliet Road. The restaurant is named for Hunter’s late grandfather from Louisiana and will focus on sandwiches from different cultures from family recipes. Foot Gear is a retail business slated to open at Charlie's Place, perhaps in March.

Costco: The membership store’s website lists June as the latest estimate to open an approximate 160,000 square foot store on nearly 20 acres at the corner of Legacy Pointe Boulevard and Rutland Drive just off Golden Bear Gateway.

Whataburger (two): Mt. Juliet has had to wait for a Whataburger restaurants that continue to populate Middle Tennessee in recent years. A new restaurant on the corner of Lebanon and North Mt. Juliet roads has experienced delays that include reworking the site plan because the state did not approve an entrance off North Mt. Juliet Road. The latest estimate to open is this spring, a Whataburger spokesperson said. Mt. Juliet recently approved plans to build another Whataburger on Rutland Drive near the Costco off Golden Bear Gateway. The initial estimate to open that Whataburger site is in Spring 2025.

Keke’s Breakfast Café, Chipotle Mexican Grill: Construction has started for the new restaurants on Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet being built on property that Stylemasters recently moved from to another location off Nonaville Road. Keke's estimated a 2025 opening. Chipotle is hopeful to open by the end of 2024, a company spokesperson said. The new location will include the brand’s Chipotlane, a drive-thru pickup lane to pick up digital orders without leaving their vehicles. Mark Lineberry owns the property with Gary Merritt.

Chick fil-A: The restaurant is part of the Planned Unit Development proposal named Greenhill Road Commercial proposed in north Mt. Juliet along Lebanon Road between North Greenhill and Old North Greenhill roads. The project received a positive recommendation from Mt. Juliet’s planning commission. The restaurant would be the second in Mt. Juliet. The city has a Chick-fil-A open on the south side of town in the Providence Marketplace area.

Nicoletto’s Pasta Co.: A site plan was approved in February for a 1,185 square foot walkup restaurant on the northwest corner of a strip center now used for parking on the east side of North North Mt. Juliet Road. Nicoletto's presently has locations in East Nashville and Donelson.

Andy’s Frozen Custard: A site plan for a walk-up and drive thru building on North Mt. Juliet Road near Sunset Drive is approved.

Cinnaholic, Starbucks: Part of an approved multi-space commercial building approved to be just over 9,300 square feet at the corner of North Mt. Juliet Road and East Division, across from the train station. An unnamed bank is also part of the development, according to Mt. Juliet city officials.

Wash N’ Roll, Salvo’s Pizza: A multi-space building off Lebanon Road across from Green Hill High School will be a corporate office for Wash N’ Roll car wash. Salvo’s Pizza and Noire The Nail Bar are among other commercial businesses expected to planning to open at the development. Wash N' Roll is also planning a car wash near Mt. Juliet's future Costco.

Wawa: Known for made-to-order hoagies, Sizzli breakfast sandwiches and a signature brand coffee, Wawa is also part of a Greenhill Road Commercial proposal with Chick-fil-A in Mt. Juliet seeking city commission approval.

Blo Dry Bar: The hair and beauty salon recently signed a lease to open at Mt. Juliet’s Providence Marketplace in a 717 square foot space near Near J.Jill and Kay Jewelers. Opening is expected in the summer months, according to Kimco Realty. The lease agreement filled Providence Marketplace to 100% capacity, a Kimco Realty spokesperson said.

Rooms To Go: A new store under construction on Adams Lane is now projected to open in the first quarter of 2025, Rooms To Go executive Peter Weitzner said. The location will include a Rooms To Go, Rooms To Go Kids and Rooms To Go Patio.

Dutch Bros: A site plan for a 950 square-foot Dutch Bros. coffee at the corner of East Sunset Drive and North Mt. Juliet Road has been submitted. The plan has conditions related to vehicle access off North Mt. Juliet Road, a retention pond and Tennessee Department of Transportation approvals.

Homewood Suites: Planning commissioners approved an amendment in December to the city’s Providence Planned Unit Development that allow for a five-story hotel at 80 Belinda Parkway.
