Apr. 13—Saturday, April 13

8 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Green Country HamFest, the largest ham radio festival in Oklahoma, Claremore Expo Center. Trade show, on-site FCC amateur radio license exams, vendors, swap meet and flea market, drawings. Advanced tickets $8 at www.greencountryhamfest.org/index.php.

10 a.m. -2 p.m. — Big Hot Dog Extravaganza, Atwoods, in support of Cats with Bats Special Olympic Games. Donations welcome.

11 a.m. — 2 p.m. — Pet adoption event, Okie Pet Rescue, Lazydays RV, 24655 US Rt 66. Lazydays RV is paying $50 toward each adoption. All puppies/dogs are dewormed, fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, HW negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. 11:30 a.m. — The J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum and Dvorak Instruments of Tulsa will host a reception and Grand Opening of the Dvorak Cool Fire Shooting Gallery inside the Museum. Dvorak Instruments had sponsored this exhibit in the Museum that will provide visitors with a virtual shooting experience using real handguns firing IR lasers at gallery-style targets projected on the back wall of the exhibit.

Sunday, April 14

2 p.m. — Rogers County Cherokee Association meets monthly except in September and December, second Sunday, RCCA building, Tiawah, 15488 East 523 Road, east of Tiawah-Justus School campus.

9 a.m. — Board of County Commissioners, Courthouse, Commissioners' meeting room.

6 p.m. — Claremore City Council meetings, City Hall, 104 South Muskogee.

7 p.m. — LaVerne Ford Wimberly, known for promoting Sunday fashion and words of inspiration during the pandemic, will speak at Friends of the Library, Will Rogers Library meeting room, 1515 North Florence Ave.

7 p.m. — Rogers County Master Gardeners present speaker Laura Koval, lifelong gardener and Tulsa Master Gardener. Open to the public. Learn about setting up and designing ornamental gardens. Information, Holly Dobbs, 918-923-4958.

Wednesday, April 17

1 p.m. — Annual Claremore High School Senior Girls Tea, Rogers State University, Carolyn Taylor Center. Photographs begin 1 p.m.; program 2 p.m. Hosted by PEO Chapter BM, PEO Chapter FI, Aladdin Club, Dr. Melinda Steelmon, OklaHomes Realty, Inc., Rogers State University.

Friday, April 19

1-4 p.m. — 2025 State Water Plan public input meeting for northeast Oklahoma, 700 North Greenwood Ave., Tulsa. Oklahoma Water Resources Board sponsored. Open to the public.

6-9 p.m. — Movie Night at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Featured film is "A Connecticut Yankee." Admission is free.

Saturday, April 20

8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Spring plant sale, Rogers County Building, 416 South Brady Street. Plants, bulbs, annuals, perennials, tomato plants, vegetable plants, garden treasurers, used garden tools, gift basket. A Rogers County Master Gardener and OSU Extension Office event.

9:45 a.m. — Safenet Services Walk a Mile Claremore at Gazebo Park. Register a team at https://givebutter.com/XFXcjr .
