Whatcom Roundup: New business in Bellis Fair; two new downtown restaurants; free coffee

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

New business opening in Bellis Fair

Another new business is opening in Bellis Fair Mall and has announced its opening date.

Made Men Cuts, a barber shop in Mount Vernon, is opening a second location inside the mall at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7. The grand opening event will include refreshments and raffle prizes.

The barbershop is also hiring and has multiple job openings, according to a Facebook post.

The Bellis Fair mall is at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.

Two new restaurants open in downtown

Downtown Bellingham had two new restaurants open last week, started by the owner of Admiralty Lounge. Bella Ciao, a tavern-style pizza restaurant, opened March 12 at 1427 Railroad Ave. and is open from 5 p.m. to midnight daily, but for 21 and older only from 9 p.m. until close.

Nacho Problem, a bar that serves drinks and nachos, opened March 15, and is only for ages 21 and older. The unique bar is open from from 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Tuesday and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday at 1425 Railroad Ave.

Sports Clips open

Sports Clips, a national chain hair salon for men, has opened a new location in Bellingham. The salon is in Sunset Square at 1225 E. Sunset Drive Suite 145, between Rite Aid and Safeway. Appointments can be made online or by calling 360-526-7031, but walk-ins are welcome as well. The salon is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Daisy Cafe offers free coffee

The Daisy Cafe, a breakfast and brunch cafe in Bellingham, is now offering free coffee to its guests with any meal purchase. The cafe announced the new deal on their Facebook page on March 13.

The Daisy Cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday and from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at 114 W Magnolia St, Ste 102.
