Nearly half of the detainees have been cleared for release, but are citizens of countries that have been deemed too risky for transfer by the Obama administration.

Nine men were released from the camp in December, showing President Obama finally may be moving forward on his campaign trail promise to close the prison. Gitmo has been shrouded in secrecy for 12 years and we're taking you inside.
