NEW YORK (AP) — It looks like a wet track for the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.
Heavy rain soaked the area on Friday morning. That afternoon's card was run in the slop and all grass races were switched to the main track.
It doesn't appear Belmont Park will have a chance to dry out. The remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea are expected produce rain, heavy at times, through Friday night.
By Belmont Day, the storm should be weakening. The forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a 50 percent chance of precipitation with temperatures in the upper 70s.
