Westmoreland tornado cleanup underway

WESTMORELAND (KSNT) – The City of Westmoreland is coming together to clean up after a tornado tore through the town.

Local law enforcement, citizens, volunteers and even high schoolers showed up the following morning to provide aid to the town.

Rock Creek High School student Trevor Matzke showed up to help his teacher whose home was badly damaged in the storm. When KSNT News Reporter Jacob Kaufman spoke to Matzke, he had just finished putting a tarp over his teacher’s roof.

“I’m just glad the community came together and really helped out and got everything cleaned up real quick because if not everybody came out it wouldn’t have been as quick and we wouldn’t have got as much done,” Matzke.
