Western Slope Native American Resource Center hosts first annual pow-wow

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Western Slope Native American Resource Center and Colorado Mesa University Native American Student Association are hosting the first annual Grand Mesa Pow-wow April 5 through 7. The event will take place on the Colorado Mesa University campus on the alumni field.

The event is free to the public and will feature contestants competing in over $28,500 in prizes in Native American dance and drum contests.

The event will also include vendors for Native American jewelry, fry bread, Navajo tacos and other foods.
