Chelsi Webb, Owner of Flipstarz Gymnastics, says gymnastics is a good way to push yourself.

“I feel like it shaped me into the person I am today. In terms of work ethic, being a go-getter. I’m always up for a challenge and I feel like every kid that’s probably their, you know, that’s probably what they thrive on also, Trying to challenge themselves” said Webb.

59News had the chance to speak with two gymnasts who are high school seniors. Both qualified for regionals.

Lilli Honaker and Morgan Webb say competing in their last state meet is overwhelming.

“It’s very crazy, especially since it was our last state meet ever and it was in our hometown. We’ve never had like a bunch of our family go to meets so all of our family and friends being there made it just unreal” said Honaker.

“It was very bittersweet. It being the last one but having all of our family and friends there, it was great” said Webb to 59News.

While many gymnasts are taking the floor, for some, this is their last competition. The bleachers are filled with family and friends supporting those who have participated in gymnastics for their whole life.
