West Suburban Pantry To Go Back To Curbside Service Amid COVID-19
WOODRIDGE, IL — With coronavirus cases continuing to surge, West Suburban Community Pantry (WSCP) in Woodridge is shifting back to curbside service as a precautionary measure.
Families in need can pick up two pre-packaged boxes of groceries or choose items from a curbside menu when they pull up to the pantry. The pre-packaged boxes will contain around 95 pounds of groceries, including fresh produce, dry goods, frozen protein, bakery and dairy items. Residents can also opt for packages that do not include pork products.
Food choices can also be made via the WSCP's Virtual Food Pantry. With the virtual pantry option, customers can select their items up to 24 hours ahead of pickup and then designate a day to visit the pantry for curbside service.

“Our first priority is to keep our customers, staff and volunteers healthy and safe,” WSCP Executive Director Laura Coyle said in a news release.
Coyle added, “We are also aware that access to the vaccine can be more challenging to people living in poverty due to a number of issues including language, education, work, transportation and childcare. Many of our customers are among populations who would be especially at risk if infected. We are doing everything we can to maintain the choice and dignity that are the hallmarks of our service while keeping people safe.”
