West Shore School District sued for allegedly violating Sunshine Act

WEST SHORE, Pa. (WHTM) — Residents complaining about the West Shore School District Board have officially filed a complaint alleging Sunshine Act violations.

The plaintiffs say there’s no other explanation for how the board majority fired a solicitor and hired a new one – without discussing the plan in public.

“Obviously the decision was made behind closed doors and there was communication amongst the majority members, that excluded specifically excluded the rest of the members of the board. and that’s violation of the Sunshine Act,” Jan Jarrett, one of the plaintiff’s and a 51 year resident of the district said.
