West De Pere Middle School educator named one of Wisconsin’s Teachers of the Year
DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – A West De Pere Middle School educator is one of Wisconsin’s Teachers of the Year.
Students and staff members gathered at the school to celebrate language arts teacher Bethany Counard as she received the award.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jill Underly says Counard goes above and beyond to create connections with her students.

“I’m anxious to continue to make community connections and hopefully build in those other learning opportunities that are not just necessarily within the school building,” said Counard.
Counard continued to say she wants to remind other teachers that this job requires a collaborative effort with other teachers, faculty members, and students.
